A Female patient aged 60 years reported to the Department of Oral medicine and Radiology at Bangalore Institute of dental sciences and research centre with severe soreness and burning sensation in her gums and inability to open her mouth.

History revealed that patient had habit of chewing areca nut and pan since 25 years.

She was diagnosed with a condition named “ORAL SUBMUCOUS FIBROSIS”. Was further evaluated, counselled for habit cessation and was duly treated.

Patient had improvement in her mouth opening after treatment of three months and is on regular follow up.

A Female patient aged 61 years reported to the Department of Oral medicine and Radiology at Bangalore Institute of dental sciences and research centre with pain, bleeding and pus discharge from the lower left back teeth region.

Medical history revealed that the patient had undergone surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy for Breast Cancer and had taken Systemic Bisphosphonates for Osteoporosis.

She was diagnosed with a condition named “BISPHOSPHONATE RELATED OSTEONECROSIS OF THE JAWS”.

Was further evaluated and under treatment and is on a regular follow up.

A Female patient aged 45 years reported to the Department of Oral medicine and Radiology at Bangalore Institute of dental sciences and research centre with long standing painful multiple ulcers of the mouth and lips. Was not responding to previous treatments.

She was diagnosed with an Autoimmune condition named “PEMPHIGUS VULGARIS” affecting the Oral Cavity. Was investigated and treated. Patient had remissions of the lesions after one phase of treatment and is on regular follow up.
